A Cross Stitch to Remember Brandy

Last week we had some very sad news.  I had a phone call from my sister late on the Monday night to say that our family dog, our beautiful golden retriever, Brandy, had been taken to the vets after collapsing in the garden and that he was going to be put to sleep.  It was a time that we all knew was going to come, but hoped never would, for Brandy was 16 years old.

Bizarrely, that morning I had decided to enbark on a new Lizzie-Kate design for my mum, titled 'Love my Dog' and I had worked on it in the garden in the sunshine throughout the day.  At this point I had no idea what was going to happen.  So when I got the call it was very upsetting, but also a very strange coincidence as I had been thinking about Brandy quite a lot that day.

Anyway, below is a picture of the cross stitch, and also a photo of Brandy with Freya. Admittedly it is not the best picture of either of them but one of the last that I have. Brandy was a wonderful dog, everyone who met him thought so, and he is going to be very much missed.

  1. Oh no, Sarah, that is so sad. I love my pets to pieces and they are both getting old ... I dread the day I will lose them. Unfortunately they can't live forever, as much as we want them to. I'm sure you and your family will cherish the memories of Brandy, and I think the cross-stitch was meant to be.

  3. Hi Sarah, great to hear from you again, and what exciting times, moving to Jersey. Hope you settle in and make loads of new friends. I've been very slack on the blogging lately, but hope to get back into the swing of it soon, and hope you do too .... looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
