Vintage India Quilt

Well here it is, at long last, my hand quilted cot quilt, using the Trade Winds collection by Lily Ashbury.

Designed and pieced in just two afternoons, and hand quilted in a not so speedy 4 ish weeks.  Can you see the detail...

Every section is hand quilted, even the elephants...it's a shame a photograph can't capture all the stitches (or the hours  spent!)

Here's what it looks like on the back.

And now for the obligatory rolled up shot;

And one last picture for good measure, as this quilt has been a labour of love!

I have decided to call my quilt 'Vintage India' as the fabrics have a very vintage feel with the gorgeous little tea cups and there is a heavy Indian influence with the lovely elephants.

I love love love these fabrics, and it has been a joy to work on this quilt, even in the small hours when the light was bad and my fingers were stiff.  I hope you like it too!
